A pangolarium has been opened by the African Pangolin Working Group.
Sponsored by Lepogo Lodges, the veterinary and rehabilitation facility will serve as a safe space for pangolins that have been rescued from illegal wildlife trade.
The facility is run by the African Pangolin Working Group and its veterinary unit comes with state-of-the-art medical technology which includes a sonar machine aimed at addressing the unique health challenges faced by rescued pangolins.

Lepogo Lodges further stated that the facility will also serve as a base camp for research and education programmes, thereby ensuring a future for pangolins through science, care and advocacy.
